Local
Market Full of Opportunity
With the housing market remaining at the
forefront of our national economy, we thought we would
share our perspective locally. Living and
building in the San Antonio area for 25+ years, we've
seen the housing market face many challenges, one
constant has been the healthy growth as more people
discover the majestic Texas Hill Country. In
2007, some cities watched their home values drop,
while the San Antonio area, reported a 7.89%
increase in home appreciation. Appreciation is
only one of the many positives to report in the San
Antonio housing market. Texas remains the #1
state in annual job growth, an integral factor in
the overall economy and key to the housing market.
Local interest rates continue to remain around
6.5%, making it a very affordable time to buy or build
real estate. A few other key components
of a healthy San Antonio housing market are............
- Approximately 15,000 New Jobs in 2007
- Safer & Affordable Mortgage Products
- Unemployment 3.9% compared to 4.7% Nationally
- Over 12,000 New Home Starts in 2007
- Over 15,000 Closings in 2007
- Boerne was the 2nd Highest Average Sales Price
in the Resale Market for the San Antonio Area(View
Report)
As more people discover the natural beauty and
charm of Texas, especially the Hill Country,
the growth will give the housing industry a wonderful
position to grow and remain healthy as a community.
In our opinion its a great time to buy, sell
and build! The local market is full of opportunity!
